Pre-Kindergarten
Pre-Kindergarten classes meet Monday – Friday from 9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Children entering this class must be entering kindergarten for the next school year or by permission of the director.
These classes continue with the curriculum to provide Pre-Kindergarten students a Bible-based, school readiness program five days a week.
The learning experiences at The Preschool at Riva Trace are planned to help children move towards the objectives for their level. Throughout the year, we will use the curriculum to address each of these preschool objectives through various learning experiences. Children will be engaged in various activities to address their development intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, creatively, and spiritually.
Reading Objectives
Arranges a series of pictures in sequence to tell a story, makes predictions about stories, displays an interest in listening to books and stories.
Math Objectives
Identifies measurements of items (i.e., same and different, more or less) and compare objects based on these ideas.
Science Objectives
Experiments with estimates, weight and measurement, height, length, and distance.
Creative Objectives
Develops concepts of music, art, and dramatic play. Enjoys listening and moving to music; draws and paints using a variety of media; role-plays events from different personal or daily experiences using puppets, costumes, or models of people and animals.
Spiritual Objectives
Becomes aware of God’s abilities, creation, desires, and promises. Becomes aware of Jesus as God’s Son and aware of His birth, life, mission, and abilities. Becomes aware of the Bible, God’s creation, and how God works through family, self, church, and the community/world.
A complete list of developmental, literacy, math, science, physical (gross/fine motor), emotional, music, art, and spiritual objectives specific to your child’s age group and class will be given by your teacher at our parent orientation.
2 Year Olds
Meets either two days a week or 1 day a week from 9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Children must be 2 in order to enter the class.
The 2 Year Old classes are designed to introduce children to a structured environment but with ample opportunity for play. The focus is to provide chances to play together as well as to develop social and proactive pre-academic skills. These students are also exposed to letters, shapes, and numbers.
3 Year Olds
Meets two days a week from 9:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Children must be 3 by September 1, 2024.
The 3 Year Old classes are designed to introduce children to a structured environment but with ample opportunity for play. The focus is to provide chances to make choices and to develop social and proactive pre-academic skills. These students are also exposed to letters, shapes and numbers in addition to fine motor development.
4 Year Olds
Meet on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Children must be 4 by September 1, 2024.
Along with our curriculum, letters and sounds, math concepts, and scripture are introduced. These students will be able to experience a Bible-based, school readiness program three days a week.
Pre - Kindergarten

Kindergarten
Kindergarten classes meet Monday – Friday from 9:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. Children entering this class must be 5 by September 1, 2024.
This class uses the Abeka curriculum to provide Kindergarten students a Bible-based, school program five days a week.
