About Us

WELCOME

We are so very excited that The Preschool at Riva Trace Baptist Church is now in its 11th year! 2023 will be our 4th year with The Kindergarten at Riva Trace.

Our vision is to partner with and serve both the young families in our church and those throughout our community by offering an exceptional preschool and kindergarten for our children. This was an integral part of our building plans and design when we constructed our new facility in 2006.

Our core values are anchored in our strong desire and commitment to provide an environment that fosters the ongoing development of our children with excellence in preparation for life and for school and remains biblically grounded in a nurturing context of Christian love and concern.

We want to extend a warm welcome to each of you who are considering registering your child in The Preschool at Riva Trace or The Kindergarten at Riva Trace. Rest assured that it is both our passion and our promise to do all that we can to serve and support you as we seek to honor God and lovingly care for your children when you entrust them to our care.

“And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” (Luke 2:40, 52)

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Preschool at Riva Trace (The P@RT) strives to create a quality Christian learning environment to equip children for kindergarten and seeks to partner with parents who desire their child to grow in knowledge, faith and love. The Kindergarten at Riva Trace (The K@RT) furthers these goals by offering a program that provides an excellent academic foundation for children who will transition to public or private school, while continuing to foster emotion, social, and spiritual growth.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
The Preschool at Riva Trace believes in fostering child growth and learning in a developmentally appropriate environment. We are a faith-based program dedicated to providing accessible and affordable education in a loving and nurturing setting. Our goal is to assist every child in developing academically, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. The Preschool at Riva Trace looks to achieve these goals through competent, caring and qualified staff and the daily lessons and activities set forth by our approved curriculum and pacing guides, MSDE early learning standards and assessments and our preschool-focused character and Bible-based lessons. The Kindergarten at Riva Trace furthers these goals by offering a program that provides an excellent academic foundation for children who will transition to public or private school, while continuing to foster emotion, social, and spiritual growth.

OUR PARTNERSHIP
The Preschool at Riva Trace and The Kindergarten at Riva Trace are ministries of and are overseen by Riva Trace Baptist Church. We realize that parents are a child’s first and best teachers, and our program seeks to partner with those who agree with, support, and will further The P@RT and K@RT’s mission and philosophy as well as the beliefs outlined by Riva Trace Baptist Church. Upon request, parents may obtain a copy of our church’s Statement of Faith.

As a ministry of Riva Trace Baptist Church, The Preschool and The Kindergarten regularly will invite and welcome families to participate in activities sponsored by the church (such as Sunday Worship and children’s programming, MOPS and MomsNext, AWANA or seasonal celebrations and community service opportunities). When parents choose to be a part of The Preschool at Riva Trace or The Kindergarten at Riva Trace, they can be assured that their child will be surrounded by a positive program centered in sharing the love of Christ.

From monthly Bible verses to the arts and crafts, the weekly chapel message to the math and science activities, the circle times to the story times, The Preschool and Kindergarten at Riva Trace want children to know “God loves me, God made me and He wants to be my friend forever!”
